Mobile location notice

This supplemental notice describes optional mobile location features. Duty sharing is available only in participating workspaces; it is not enabled for all customers. It does not start automatically when you sign in or grant map access.

If you allow device location access, CaseCore can use your location for maps, navigation and the field records you choose to create. Map and navigation providers may process location, device and network information when their services are used. A location saved to a case remains part of that case record.

Optional duty sharing is available only in participating workspaces. Where it is available and enabled by your agency, you choose whether to start a duty session and which named agency managers may view it. CaseCore collects your location, measurement time and accuracy to show those managers your current duty location and support movement and check-in alerts. Selecting Share in background and granting device permission allows location collection while CaseCore is not open on screen or your device is locked. Force-closing CaseCore or restarting your device stops capture; reopen CaseCore and review sharing before continuing. Signing in or granting a map permission does not by itself start duty sharing.

You can pause or stop sharing in the app, or revoke location permission in device settings. A stopped session does not restart automatically. Your agency's primary location and duty-metadata retention periods are shown before sharing. These periods do not change the retention of evidence or location information deliberately saved to a case, and protected backups have a separate retention lifecycle.

Duty location is not used for advertising. Weak GPS, loss of connection, permission changes or device restrictions can interrupt sharing and alerts. Duty sharing is not an emergency response service and does not guarantee that a manager will receive or respond to an alert.
